The following article will take you through the process of adding a blog (article) to your WordPress website.
Step 1
Login to your WordPress Dashboard

Step 2
Select Posts > Add New

Step 3
Add the Title of the article

Step 4
Add the Meta Description for the article.
Delete ‘Post Content’ and add an article excerpt (less than 160 characters).

Step 5
Add a Focus Keyphrase for the article (optional).
This helps guide you to improve the SEO of your article.

Step 6
Set the Post Format to Standard in the right-hand-side bar.

Step 7
Set the Author in the right-hand-side bar.

Step 8
Set the Template in the right-hand-side bar to ‘Default template’.

Step 9
Check out AIOSEO in the right-hand-side bar. This updates automatically to give you an overall analysis of your article.

Step 10
Check out the Permalink in the right-hand-side bar. This is the page URL for your article. This updates automatically and is where you will find your article once published.

Step 11
Select the appropriate Category for your article in the right-hand-side bar. Multiple categories may be selected and new categories may be added if necessary.

Add Tags (optional). Add 1-2 relevant tags for your article in the right-hand-side bar.

Add a Featured Image for your article in the right-hand-side bar (Click on ‘Set featured image’).

Select an image from the Media Library or upload a new image. Note that to ensure optimal performance of your website, images should be no more than 800 px and be compressed.

An Excerpt for the image is not required.

In the Discussion section in the right-hand-side bar:
- Allow Comments – Not recommended
- Allow Pingbacks & Trackbacks – Recommended

Select ‘Edit with Elementor’ at the top of the page.

Select ‘Add New Section (+)’

Select the Page Structure – Full width.

Click on the ‘Widgets’ icon (9 dots).

Click in the section that is to be added to, to make it active.

Drag the ‘Heading’ widget into the active section.

Highlight ‘Add Your Heading Text Here’ in the left-hand-side panel and add the article title.

Click in the section that you are adding the copy to, to make it active.

Drag the ‘Text Editor’ widget into the active section.

Highlight the template copy (Lorem ipsum…) in the left-hand-side panel and add the copy for the article.

Click ‘Update’ at the bottom of the page.

Click on the 3 horizontal lines at the top left-hand-side of the page.

Click on ‘Exit to Dashboard’.

Click on ‘View Posts’ (‘W’ icon at the top left-hand-side of the page).

Hover over the website name/ user name at the top right-hand-side of the page and select ‘Log Out’.
